My current research involves the manipulation of plasticity genes in the hippocampus via viral gene delivery. The resulting phenotypes are analyzed with several techniques including electrophysiology of hippocampal brain slices and examination of consequent long-term potentiation (LTP) or lack thereof, immunohistochemistry, and behavior. My senior thesis involves the analysis of plasticity genes associated with synaptic morphology.
